About Sky

Sky Mobile is an MVNO operated by Sky UK (owned by Comcast) and runs on O2's network. Launched in 2017, Sky Mobile's signature feature is Piggybank — unused data automatically rolls over and can be stored for up to 3 years, or traded for up to £50 off a new device. Sky Mobile is particularly strong for existing Sky TV and broadband customers who get combined billing and discounts.

Sky Mobile's 'Mix' plans are flexible — you can change your data allowance every month without penalty. Tiers from 1GB to Unlimited. All include unlimited calls and texts. Piggybank data rollover on all non-unlimited plans. Note: Sky Mobile applies RPI-linked price changes with 30-day notice and a penalty-free exit right.

Sky Mobile's 'Swap12' scheme lets you upgrade to a new phone every 12 months by returning your current device in good condition — no need to pay off the remaining balance. Device plans run 24–36 months. Billing can combine with Sky TV and broadband.

Sky Mobile doesn't offer traditional PAYG — its 30-day Mix plans function similarly and can be changed month-to-month, offering similar flexibility without a traditional top-up mechanic.

Sky Mobile supports eSIM on compatible devices (recent iPhones, selected Android). Activate through the Sky Mobile app.

Coverage & 5G

Sky Mobile runs on O2's network — 99% population 4G coverage and 5G access via O2's network. Use O2's coverage checker for accurate results. Coverage mirrors O2 direct.

Roaming Abroad

Sky Mobile does NOT include EU roaming free — unlike O2 direct which includes it on all plans. A daily charge applies for EU roaming unless you have a Roam add-on. This is a significant difference from O2 despite running on O2's network. For EU travel, O2 direct or Tesco Mobile are better options.
