About EE

EE is the UK's largest and fastest mobile network, owned by BT Group since 2016 (£12.5 billion acquisition). Formed in 2010 from the merger of Orange UK and T-Mobile UK, EE launched under the Everything Everywhere brand in 2012. EE was first to 4G (October 2012) and first to 5G (May 2019) in the UK. EE 5G+ Standalone launched September 2024, reaching approximately 44 million people. EE has led independent UK speed tests for over 10 consecutive years.

Plans

We don't list live prices — they change frequently. Below we explain how each plan type works.

EE SIM Only plan tiers: No Frills (speed-capped ~10Mbps, no EU roaming), Essentials, Essentials Plus (free EU roaming added), All Rounder (uncapped 5G+, free EU roaming, one Inclusive Extra), Full Works (all extras, Apple One on iPhone, Roam Further destinations). Annual price rise: £2.50/month from March 2026.

EE Pay Monthly mirrors the SIM Only tier structure, adding handsets from Apple, Samsung, and Google. Full Works on iPhone includes Apple One. EE One bundle saves up to £20/month for customers who also have EE broadband.

EE PAYG packs scale from starter data bundles to unlimited monthly packs. Wi-Fi Calling included. 5G access on relevant PAYG packs.

EE supports eSIM on all compatible devices. Activate via the My EE app or QR code. Also supports Apple Watch Cellular, eSIM pairing for tablets and laptops.

Coverage & 5G

EE has the UK's widest 5G coverage — 87%+ of the population across 500+ towns and cities. 5G+ Standalone (launched September 2024) reaches approximately 44 million people (about 66% of population). 4G: 99% outdoor. EE consistently wins independent speed tests — Opensignal January 2026: 53.2Mbps combined average.

Roaming Abroad

EU roaming is included from Essentials Plus tier and above. Basic Essentials and No Frills do NOT include it — approximately £2.47/day charge applies. Full Works adds Roam Further destinations (USA, Canada, Australia). 25GB monthly cap while roaming.
